There are three examples of the fireworks that generally occured when tenor-saxophonist Coleman Hawkins and trumpeter Roy Eldridge met up (taken from a live session in 1959) while the remainder of this disc finds Hawk playing in Brussels in 1962. The veteran tenor is particularly strong on "Disorder at the Border" and "Rifftide," but the highpoint is a rare unaccompanied solo on "Dali," the fourth and final time that Hawkins recorded an improvisation by himself. It is a pity he never recorded an entire album like that.
