Wax & Gold
Tracy Bonham is an American alternative rock musician from Eugene, Oregon. Best known for the single "Mother, Mother" and the album The Burdens of Being Upright. She became a professional musician in 1995 and has released five albums, the latest is Wax & Gold which will drop in the summer. Currently she's teaching several music camps and is playing a few live dates to promote her upcoming record. Born on March 16, 1967 in Boston, Massachusetts; Tracy Bonham is a musical prodigy who began playing the violin before she was ten. After attending U.S.C. on a musical scholarship, she transferred to the prestigious Berklee College of Music to concentrate on vocal music instead of classical violin. During her time in Boston, she recorded her first release the The Liverpool Sessions EP which garnered the attention of Island Records who signed her to a two record deal. Tracy Bonham's debut disc The Burdens of Being Upright became a huge success earning four musical award nominations and the rest is history. Tracy Bonham's music can best be described as a mixture of post-grunge and rock music. Her classical music training can be heard in the arrangements as she mixes the violin, Hammond organ and piano along with the traditional bass, drums and guitar. After being labeled an "alternative" musician since her debut, Bonham's latest album Wax & Gold is veering towards a more indie rock sound. Kevin Salem is the producer of the record who also plays the guitar on the tracks and co-wrote a few of the tunes.
