Interzone is a Vancouver Sonic Rock band featuring three members, and three different playing styles, that have been fused together to form a truly inimitable sound. Interzone is in a class and genre of its own – influences include Muse, Silversun Pickups, Nirvana, Oasis, The Smiths and Radiohead. Interzone dates back to 2008, when Sonny Chizar and Matt Holland came together after having discovered a shared love for the 90’s Brit-Rock. Sonny and Matt also found common ground in their disdain for the one-dimensional, blasé, 604-sound that had been dominating the charts, and sought to create something distinctively cutting-edge that would stand out from the current Vancouver rock scene. Soon Sonny and Matt found themselves in search of producing a UK Alt-Rock influenced rock band. Sonny began penning songs at blinding speed, and the two went to great effort to blend their differing playing styles together; however, the two knew something was still missing – enter bassist Tim Sivak. Sivak brought an unrivaled funkadelic depth to Interzone’s songs. Tim added extra pep and feel to both the writing and performing realms and completed the trio that would collaborate and play together as Interzone for the next six years. From 2010-2014, Sonny, Matt and Tim went through the excruciating struggle that involves recording an album. Following the sacking of their original drummer, reputable musician Steve Lindsay agreed to join on as a session drummer and re-record drums for the entirety of the album. A series of pitfalls and obstacles fell upon the band, but after four years of painstaking effort and determination, Interzone finally completed their self-titled debut album – their vision has finally become a reality, and they are ready to show the world – Interzone.
