This song reflects the feelings everyone may have experienced when, though in the midst of Summer, knowing that Winter is around the corner. I'm sure many remember when, as a child, loving Summer vacation during the months of June, July and August but realizing that August is the month that approaches the beginning of the vacation's end..... school (school supplies ads on television are the tip off to what's ahead) though it is still a time to enjoy the Summer vacation. The same can be said about life. The first thirty years are like the spring of one's life....growing into the person you are. The years 30 to 60 are those years one becomes what they are...enjoying the time with friends and family pushing ahead with potential promises.. The years 60 and beyond are spent enjoying the fruits of your past but knowing that the future is limited by aging and Death (Winter).
