Drain the Swamp
Singer and songwriter Russell Jones knows about presidents. His father worked in the White House for over thirty years. During that time, Russ got to know seven presidents…and according to him, “This one is unlike the rest—and not in a good way!” (Yes, he met Mr. Reagan and yes, as a small boy he was on the White House driveway witnessing President Kennedy’s funeral march to Arlington Cemetery.) “I am saddened and disturbed by how this man has severely diminished the integrity of the Oval Office, our core beliefs, and our responsibilities as leader of the free world. I wrote this song to express exactly how I feel,” Russ says. He adds, “This is personal for me!” A veteran performer and songwriter (he had his first label deal when he was 22), Russell knows how to tell a story in song. “Drain the Swamp” is his first collaboration with legendary producer, Louis Anthony deLise, whose credits include recordings with Patti LaBelle, William DeVaughn and the band Halestorm.
