"Echoes of Carolan Vol.2 - Separation of Soul and Body" This is the second album in a series featuring the works of Turlough O'Carolan (1670-1738), a blind harper and composer who was active in Ireland around 300 years ago. Among Carolan's numerous compositions, I have chosen the profoundly meaningful and philosophical piece "Separation of Soul and Body" as the album's subtitle. For this recording, I have newly adopted stereo techniques, particularly in tracks like "Fanny Dillon" and "Separation of Soul and Body", to create an immersive sound that envelops the listener. Please enjoy the delicate touch, shimmering resonance, and the subtle interplay of harmonics that are unique to the wire-strung harp, as each sound crosses and weaves into the next. All tracks are recorded on the 27-string wire-strung harp "Cinnamon" (op.347), designed and crafted by the performer. This harp has a beautifully resonant low range. Turlough O'Carolan himself also played a wire-strung Irish harp. No EQ or compression processing was applied after recording. The sound is presented exactly as it was captured, preserving the natural resonance of the harp. Experience the delicate and rich overtones of the wire-strung harp as if it were right beside you.
