The Kluane Compositions (克鲁恩乐曲)
The Kluane Compositions is an epic 13-minute music film created by musicians Diyet van Lieshout and Matthew Lien. The film features original music by Diyet and Lien, and a grand piano airlifted into Kluane National Park and Reserve in Canada's Yukon Territory – home to Canada's highest mountains. Lien, in collaboration with Diyet – a member of the Kluane First Nation – structured the film to include three movements representative of the three distinct ecosystems of Kluane Park, with dual story lines about the splendour of water and ice from the perspective of an observer (Lien), and the spirit of the Land (Diyet). The Kluane Compositions was funded by the Yukon Government’s Yukon 125 Prize and by the Canada Council for the Arts, and was filmed entirely within Kluane National Park and Reserve on the traditional lands of the Champagne And Aishihik First Nations and the Kluane First Nation, in celebration of the Yukon Territory’s 125th anniversary, and 2025 as the United Nation’s Year of the Glacier.
