Koloni Records proudly presents Beoeoes Kaelstigen's ‘Toppola’ as our fourth release. Boeoes Kaelstigen formed when Tor Rauden Källstigen and Leo Nathorst-Böös met in a rethorics class they both attended. Soon they found out that they shared a similar taste in music, love for Giorgio Moroder, futuristic trains and things that go beep. After two successful 12-inches, support started trickling from all the corners of the world, ranging from Özgür Can and Bassfly to Manuel De La Mare and Kompakt's Michael Mayer. ‘Toppola’ consist of two tracks: ‘Transpole’ and ‘Mimosa’. ‘Transpole’ starts off with a rolling click rhythm that, together with the entry of the bass line and a space synth really grabs you. The song builds into a myriad of rhythmic elements and just when it hits, echoes out into a break. On the build-up the synth re-enters and creates that feeling you get on a dancefloor when a tune really reaches its peak. ‘Mimosa’, the single's flipside, has the same direct impact as ‘Transpole’. With some really great drum programming and matching chords, the track oozes of that dark pitched-down feeling that really gets us going. The sound is deep and repeatedly cut of by nice round claves bringing the sound together and building a calm-before-the-storm atmosphere–just to explode moments later. Merry Christmas!
