Established in 2008, CHES, a 501(c)3 organization mobilizes \volunteers of supporters, experts, trainers and business leaders committed to delivering impactful value to entrepreneurs in rural Haiti. We are commemorating a 10 yr milestone with the release of an exclusive single co-written by our founder Rebecca Obounou and with producer Jimmy Olivier. Anacaona Records and Oh Sound Studio produced this piece. It features the voices of Haiti's rising talents BebyJoe, Thamar Joseph, and the popular Rayy Raymond . All these people generously gave of their time, talent and energy to help us celebrate this moment! A Haitian-American, our founder was born in the US to Haitian immigrants. She lived among Haiti’s vulnerable in the rural North during her adolescent years. Based on her experience and observations, Rebecca developed a deep conviction that Haitian people need economic opportunity as a pathway out of poverty so they can build business and create jobs and founded CHES in 2008. Our mission: to educate, to fund, and to mentor entrepreneurs in rural Haiti. Our vision: to see people living in dignity and free of poverty empowered through business education and opportunity. We have trained over 200 people, of whom 60% have been women. We have also accompanied two start-ups We believe that Haitians need to lead Haiti into a better tomorrow.
