Country Gents' Lee Jones teams up with Buckinghamshire's freestyle lyricist Jez Watkins, aka Uncle Bungle. Uncle Bungle is one half of "Freddy Fridge Magnet and Drunken Uncle Bungle" (www.myspace.com/fridgeandbungle ), a tongue-in-cheek festival Hip Hop act featuring super-fast mixing and razor sharp "Comedy Rap" wit. Bungle's new collaboration with Country Gents gives him a more serious outlet for his life stories and poetic rhymes. Bristol Bus Soul features a spoken word journey describing a life problem everyone can relate to, the constant juggle of a social life and a career. Bungle takes us through a weekend's hard partying and Monday's grim realisation that another week of the monotony of work lies ahead. Get through that however and the following weekend offers another chance to party in this seemingly endless cycle of modern life. Lee's instrumental is a definite nod to the oldskool U.S House and Garage productions hailing from New York in the mid nineties, adding a refreshing and modern stance on dance music. Bumpin' beats, acidic touches and haunting moody chords make for another slick and grown-up sounding production from the Country Gents stable. Additional audio icing is provided by John Symms (Kinky Movement) and his classy Jazz/Funk/Soul keyboard solo. All these elements combined make for a very original cross continental sounding track with a U.K Punk ethos complementing the spacious and beautiful U.S Garage vibe perfectly.
