The Front are an American rock band that formed in San Diego CA in 1982. The group was formed by Mark Baez (vocals, guitar and harmonica), Morgan Smith (Lead guitar), Kevin Chanel (bass guitar) and Dan Mehlos (drums, percussion), They have had US top-ten college radio singles and EP's and performed live shows in the western parts of the U.S. Its members established the independent record label Scheming Intelligentsia Records and afterwards released their debut EP Gangland in 1982 followed by Man, You Gotta Move in 1984 and their third EP, La Bete Humaine in 1987.
