The track "A Thousand and One Tears" featured in the trailers for TEARDROP (Random House) are from Anthea's debut single. "A Thousand and One Tears" was written and produced by the Sydney based artist ANTHEA. Blending oceanic synth lines, haunting vocals and heart beaten breaks reminiscent of the 90s Bristol trip hop scene, her sound has been described as "Dark Pop" (Jim Bar, Portishead) emoting the valour of myth and legends. "A Thousand and One Tears" is a song about choices, love, and sirens out to sea. Recorded in an inner city Sydney attic studio, under subtle hues of candlelight surrounded by books, instruments and a couple of very lovely microphones, and features vocals of Anthea and the grounding influence of Jonathan Zwartz on double bass and korg. Mixed and mastered by the talented Icelandic wizard, Geir Brillian.
