From the minute we're born sound presents itself and immediately it becomes one with us. It envelops our very essence and sets us on our journey ahead. We grow and take on shapes, colors and surroundings all of which are built through vibration of sound whether you can see with your eyes or feel with your body. This is all music. It sets the stage for who we become and what we celebrate. It creates our happiness our sorrows our wonders and contentment. It's the fabric of who we are. Every person lives their own song each and every day. While doing so we continue to learn, fall, see, hurt, lose, recover, love, hate, rise and inevitably build our own soundtrack to every step that we take. This IS Beauty in The Breakdown! It's a journey starting from birth and emerging into our now and present existence. It's a formulation of all that has inspired and even hurt. A wave which we ride that never ends. It continues to delight, excite and command attention without demanding it....this is our collective vision and soundtrack creation...... Beauty In the Breakdown formed in 2014 as an American Pop Group creating their own take on percussion-driven electro pop. They are a new frequency on the music soundscape, fronted by renowned percussionist Chastity Ashley along with versatile and accomplished guitarist Ian Alexander. They are also joined by the award winning young veteran drummer Christmas Collazzo and renowned bass and synths sensation Rome Kubiak. April 14th 2015 debuts their first EP release entitled “NEON” which was produced by Sahaj Ticotin of the band RA and also includes a remix of their single “Around The World” by house legend DJ Rap. The members of the electro pop/rock band have had much success in their individual careers which brought their influences together ranging from Prince to Chvrches. This makes the collaboration and formation of the band and their sound set to spark a fuse in music that offers something dynamic and electric. Chastity is celebrated as a master of the djembe, a traditional African drum, as well as all other percussive forms. Ian, whom has strong Spanish/flamenco style guitar influences as well as rock, provides the rebellious riffs that accentuate Chastity’s tribal pounding beats and distinct vocals. Chastity made inroads into the music business with her passion for drums when she made the final cut as the house drummer for the Keenan Ivory Wayans Show at only 15. This later led to joining as the percussionist and back up vocalist for Mega Group Duran Duran, which took her from Brazil to Madison Square Garden on a tour that inspired Love Tsunami of Jam Magazine to comment, Chastity Ashley on a small percussion setup doubled the bang of Roger Taylors buck in several numbers. While attending The Musicians Institute in Hollywood where she studied a full drum curriculum in the PIT program under acclaimed drummer Ray Luzier of KORN, she landed a single on the Disney Movie Brink. Soon after her band OUTLETT went on to win numerous music awards and opened on the Motley Crue and Aerosmith tour. She has also collaborated and played with Mark Ronson, Ana Matronic (Scissor Sisters), Tom Morello (Rage Against The Machine), Alice in Chains, Ben Harper, Filter, Cypress Hill, Perry Ferrell, and Tierra. Additionally, she’s landed in prestigious magazines, like Drum Magazine as the “Rising Star Percussionist” and Modern Drummer, among others. Starting as young as age 7 Ian’s enigmatic and melodious guitar rhythms and songwriting would lead him to signing a record deal with the regionally successful band Unset. The heavy hitting hard rock label Gridiron Records brought on producer Mikey Doling of the band Snot/Channel Zero for their full length debut album “Remains of A Dream”. During this time his band played to sold-out audiences, landed songs on multiple movie soundtracks all while embarking on national tours. The two had both met while on the road playing shows together and both decided after their connection that they were ready for a new direction. This is when in March of 2014, Christmas Collazzo and Rome Kubiak were both introduced into the band to make the connection complete for their new vision and creation. They then knew as a group that their creating would blend genres and defy type-casting. And this is just the beginning.
