mm015 is the Buttons EP by Ryan Truman featuring a slick remix by our friend in Spain, Tres Manos. Ryan contributes his first EP to Marinated after his latest remix of Matthew Brian's 'Hi Baby' to hit the label in early December. The title track, "Buttons on a String" is a steady deep and dark chugger. The clean highs and snappy bassline allows for the vocal to become layered and hypnotic. Ryan accomplishes a fluid motion in his original tune. Track 2 is the Tres Manos remix of Buttons on a String. This remix does exactly what a proper remix should, it stays true to the original by complimenting the artists intention while creating a new flow and expanding on the initial idea. Starting with a long melodic intro, Tres manos is quick to flip into the thick bass groove and acid pokes that line the progression on the song. A variety of motions emerge form different directions from chord stabs to automated synths. This remix has a timeless feel to it that is sure to please. Track 3 is called Miss You. On this track Ryan uses a well placed vocal which extends through the inner lining and textural elements of the chord tones. Holding true to a deep vibe to round out the ep, Mr. Truman makes it easy to relate to this song with an ease in movement, and depth in simplicity.
