Fix This Economy
Phunky Rabbit Records proudly presents DJ Prince feat. Ronnie Canada-Fix This Economy. DJ Prince (Vikram Rai) is regarded as one of Norway's leading DJ/Producers if not Europe and the world. He got his DJ name from his grandmother who called him 'her little Prince'. In 2000 he released a white label with Justin K. called 'Mixmad-Got To Have' which became a huge success. The following year on its main release it hit number 3 in the billboard charts and held number 1 position in the Norweigian dance charts for some time. DJ Prince is also involved with the development of software and has also contributed to a number of books on music technology. Ronnie Canada is a legend in his own time having worked with just about everybody who is anybody in the business over the years. He has worked with The Drifters, The Ojays and featured on many other big name records. His style is raw old school soul/funk. Ronnie has already featured on Phunky Rabbit Records for a track with Placidic Dream called 'Ive Been Betrayed' which was very well received. He used to work with Judge Jules doing his voice overs for him on Radio 1. Ronnie has been with the label from the start and is a highly valued member of the team. On the mixes first of all we have the original where DJ Prince gives us a Disco House backdrop full of clever hooks and melodies. Love the synths in this mix as they twist out a mainroom vibe that would also be at home in the clubs and bars. Ronnie delivers a message about the state of the economy at present and he is not afraid to point a finger at those responsible. On the remixes co-owner of the label and fellow Norwegian Bjarne Sorum gives us another Disco House vibe with his Rampus production outfit. Next the vibe goes a little more soulful as Yohann Levems gives us a solid groove with a delicious piano which keeps you going throughout the track. Sudad G. & DJ Geehan keep the soulful feel going with their remix. This one twists about and really is one to get you all moving. Jimmy Whoo also uses a soulful theme and his mix includes some enchanting melody hooks that reach right into the heart. BB White does a lovefull dub for us and again keeps a deep but moving feel to it. Then he gives you a synth solo that just takes off we love it. Mr J. Mixtailes rounds things off with a more progressive approach which will go down well in the clubs. We think there is something to please everybody in this package and lets hope the message gets through. We would like to thank everyone involved and hope you enjoy the release as much as we did putting it together. Thanks Malc & Bjarne All enquiries to: info@phunkyrabbit.co.uk
