Reche was formed in Santiago, Chile, on March 2014, under the leadership of Jorge “Koke” Aedo (vocals and lead guitar). The band members are Miguel Riquelme (second guitar), Ignacio Elgueta (bass guitar) and Mauricio Güiza (drums). Based on a particular political and social vision, we developed the lyrics and musical compositions of our first album, Origin Vol. 1: 1978. Throughout this work, social criticism and messages of frustration and rage against the system are expressed, taking part in a widespread feeling regarding the world as we know it. This band distinguishes itself by reinventing old, tough, coarse riffs, thus modernizing them. This gives the band its original sound. Moreover, we are introducing in the Southern Cone Region an unexplored style of metal music. Our innovative sound, combined with our own and authentic expression of the contemporary social problems (which can be appreciated in our lyrics), gives birth to a novel product, but nonetheless, familiar to the intended audience. This proximity with the audience comes from the use of elements that are proven to be of popular liking, such as the expression of a shared opinion regarding transversal problems of our society, and our musical influences, among which we can enumerate: Megadeth, Pantera, Ozzy Osbourne, Black Label Society and Five Finger Death Punch. These recognizable elements which are reinvented through our novel sound, plus a truly powerful and high-quality stage performance, give the audience a unique show experience. Koke has a relevant career in Chile. In 2007 he was cofounder, composer, lead guitar and backup lyrics of the band Troy. This band appeared in the 9th place of the ranking Top Mundi of MTV Brasil, toured through the South of Chile with the internationally famous band Lucybell, appeared in the second version of the Festival “La Cumbre del Rock Chileno” (Chilean Rock Summit) and were the opening band for Roxette’s show in Santiago, in 2012. Moreover, at the same time, Koke worked as a composer for EMI Music Publishing Chile, elaborating songs for various international artists. Ignacio, since 2007, has participated as lighting director and show designer for relevant bands, such as Six Magics, Husar, Fahrenheit, Troy, among others.
