Nouvelle from Oslo has excisted since 2011 in various constellations. The foundation was made by Andreas Bade, Christian Volan and Casper Kvammme who all came from the dissolved indiepop-outfit, Amalee. From todays line-up they first found guitarist, Morten Fabrin (former The Palermo Surf Experience/CPH). A bit later they teamed up with vocalist and NISS-graduate, Linda Wik, and started Arms & the Woman. Last, but not least, the band was complemented by pianoman, Karl Erik Holum, in order to get a more potent and varied soundscape. When Casper Kvamme in 2014 decided to retire, he more or less immediately was replaced by experienced drummer, Vegar Eriksfallet (former Explicit Lyrics), and the band changed to Nouvelle. The first singel, Come Around, was released in February 2015. Musically it is a versatile and sometimes schizophrenic musical experience without being distinctive, taken or prententious. When changing name from Arms & The Woman to Nouvelle, the sound also took a slight turn from being fairly pop-based and straight forward, to being more experimental, noisy and at times a bit more melancholic. But still the band is rather undefinable and will not commit to any particular genre. If any apply, it would most likely be melodic noisepop.
