After a brief hiatus following a handful of successful EP's from Silk 86, Rick Wade, and Ashworth & Kiwi, Pablo Ranacat's Berlin/London-based label Sneaky returns with a 4-track EP from San Franciscan-turned-Berliner Yooj. 'The Silberstein Years EP' package ranges from slow woozy sunrise trips like 'High Feeling' all the way to the storming but soulful 'Animal Friends.' Yooj displays an expert handle on his samples throughout, especially with 'Weatherman' where bits and pieces were recorded direct from his father's grand piano during a trip back to California. The package is rounded out with 'Ride,' which coasts along a rapturous string sequence and the sweet coos of an unknown songstress.
