"Most of these are my tunes, and a few beauties that crossed my bow. "Read Between the Lines" is a collection of songs that required various approaches in the studio, so we hired two rhythm sections, an hard-driving section (Brian Newcombe on bass, Jerry Adolphe on drums), and a jazz rhythm section (Joey Smith on bass, Kelby MacNair on drums), and still others with only the acoustic guitar as the bed track.
