Eric C. Johnson is a native Memphian. He is the husband of Belinda Johnson and the father of two, Chastite and Cavonta. The Johnson’s are members of the Koinonia Christian Center in Memphis, led by pastors Cedric and Miranda Taylor. Eric was first exposed to music as a child. His early years were filled with performances at churches and weddings. These childhood experiences were the building blocks for what would grow to be an impressive discography, which includes both national and local musical success, films and stage plays. Eric has achieved much success as a vocalist and has shared the stage with some of the nations’ best. To his credit are performances with Bishop Edwin Hawkins and Reverend Timothy Wright. Eric has also graced the stage of Ed McMahon’s Star Search and the legendary Apollo Theater in New York. Eric’s local stage performances are too lengthy to list in their entirety but include collaborations with “The Original” Olanda Draper and the Associates, Angelic Voices of Faith, and Carlton Leakes and the Voices. After numerous successful collaborations, Eric embarked on his first solo project. “Trinity Praise” featured some of Memphis’ most amazing talents and was artfully produced by the “maestro”, Jason Clark. A true love of the arts has made Eric a welcome fixture in the local stage play circuit. His most notable appearances have been in “Wounded for Me” and “Love Ain’t Suppose To Hurt” directed by U. Maybone. Oh yeah, and this thing with Flo! (Insert laugh here). Eric’s film credits include “The Firm” and Jerry Lewis’ “Great Balls of Fire.” Eric’s creativity, however, is not limited to the stage. He is the owner and Master Stylist at Espalon of Memphis, a full service spa and salon. Eric has been a trailblazer in the industry for over 20 years and continues to be one of the most sought after stylists in Memphis.
