Filming of the video for 'England' by MadFish wrapped-up in Redhill on Sunday 30th March, and the band hope it will become the unofficial anthem for England's quest to win the World Cup in Brazil this summer. Redhill resident Colin Wales, the band's drummer, said: "It was absolutely brilliant, we started off at the Indian takeaway at Earlswood. Then we had the big pub scenes and we had a ride up and down with all the Harleys." The film features supporters celebrating through the streets and partying in the Jolly Brickmakers pub, on Frenches Road. Redhill, accompanied by a procession of Harley Davidsons. MadFish is made up of Colin Wales, Gregor Wilson, lead vocals, rhythm guitar, originally from Ashtead and now living in Sydney, Australia and lead guitarist James Bay from London. The band formed in 2010 out of the ashes of The Head, 'infamously' known for their very rare and collectable 1980 single 'Nothing To Do In A Town Like Leatherhead'. MadFish currently have an EP out 'Introducing…MadFish' available on Molebeat Records through CDBaby, iTunes and Amazon. MadFish are also releasing their first album, 'Chocolate Ice Cream' on Monday 14th July, the day after the World Cup Final, plus they already have a second album provisionally titled '1979' in the works! Discussing the second album, Mr Wales said: "There's a song on that album called 'England', so I came up with a mad idea to turn this into an anthem for the World Cup, so we re-wrote the words and it's gone from there." MadFish recorded the song at Panther Studios, in Reigate, produced by Richard Coppen a.k.a Dr. Crippen of Tenpole Tudor and King Kurt fame. A video of the song will be released at the same time and available to view on YouTube. Mr Wales said: "It's all about what you would call football supporters' habits and the England we know. Fish and chips and beer and how we remember England back in the day! We have got sausage rolls and vindaloo, they are all added into the song. "Then, of course, we mention just like in 66 hear the lions roar. It's a real supporters sort of song and it is really catchy, everybody can sing along to it." Finally, after recording the song, Mr Wales has some thoughts on who will win this summer in Rio: "Brazil have got to be favourites, but on the day we can beat them."
