Pam Hall’s musical career like many before and after her, had its early beginnings in the traditional school and church atmosphere. From as early as she and others can recall, her ability to identify notes, chords and harmonies was no secret and it was very noticeable how truly gifted she was. She was always a member of her church and school choirs but never ventured alone on stage until her senior years in high school. Pam was, even at those young years a true perfectionist and would often feel traumatized if any of her musical accompaniments were off; because that meant “she herself was off.” It wasn’t until after High school and college that Pam made her official entry into the professional world of music. She quickly built a strong reputation as a versatile lead singer and an extraordinary background vocalist. Her understanding of music made her a true gem to work with. She was quick at (and would always end up) arranging the harmonies. As a recording artist, she was one of Jamaica’s best vocalists and was dubbed “Jamaica’s song bird”. Later she joined forces with a close musical associate to form the duo ““Pam and Woody”. Together they went on to become Jamaica’s first award winning duo. Realizing Pam’s versatility, many producers and fellow musicians strongly encouraged her to pursue more solo recordings. This decision enabled her to showcase other genres of music. She was constantly working as a Reggae, R&B, Blues and Jazz performer. Pam soon had many hits both local and international and toured the world performing them. Even with the success of her solo career, Pam was in great demand for her background work and as a result she toured with a couple of other groups where she did her own solo act and still provided backing vocals for them. Under her belt are several musical accomplishments. She has released over a dozen albums, has made appearances on a wide variety of charts around the world, been a part of several top groups, worked with nearly all of Jamaica’s top artists, opened for and performed with many top international stars, was regularly featured on the BET Jazz channel, has collected tons of music awards worldwide, is on the boards of several music organizations, owns her own publishing company, produces, arranges, writes and most notably to her, is the help she gives constantly to other musicians, especially those blossoming in or entering the field. Pam is a truly gifted singer, songwriter, performer, producer and musician. She has garnered and held the attention of fans worldwide from the day she began recording. She is fondly regarded as the musicians’ singer and is still in high demand. The greatest compliment she has ever received, was when she was described as “Music Itself”. Her fans can look forward to much more from this veteran singer as her of love of music keeps her creative juices flowing.
