Chris Rainbow's Wild Bunch All Stars
The Wild Bunch All Stars Album was recorded over a period of several months at Arena Sound Studios in Somerset UK. The 16 tracks offer a wide musical spectrum from instrumental passages to Southern Boogie Rock. All the songs were written by Chris Rainbow except two great Black Oak Arkansas covers "Son of a Gun" & "The Truth Be Known". Featured musicians on this Album as well as Chris's regular Wild Bunch Band Mates include former Gods,Spice & Uriah Heep Bassman Paul Newton and singer Charlie Hancock. Of the four instrumental tracks on the Album three pieces "A seaside Retreat","The Mage at Netherwood" and "Never Again" are based loosely on Aliester Crowley's last days at the infamous Netherwood guest house in Hastings, where he died in 1947. Other tracks vary from the ballad "The New Old Song" to the Quo like boogie of "Lazyboy Blues" and the occult rock of "Satan's Claw".
