The last Chant album to feature bass player Tom Harris - who passed away prior to its finish - Floating Pebbles mixes studio concoctions with those final recordings. While the band's chemistry is particularly evident in the latter material, the newer songs see plenty of ingenuity as Davis experiments with a variety of guitar sounds in search of a new identity for the band. As with all Chant material, though, Davis' knack for songwriting structures remains the strength.
