Night Flight was born in 2015 - the beautiful child of songwriter Larry Mindel, and producer / bassist Joe Read, who has played with some of the biggest names in music. It's a coffee shop in North London. They're at separate tables, each sipping their flat whites. Steely Dan comes on the speakers - and they catch each other singing along. They get talking. For four hours. Larry and Joe share a love of classic jazz-tinged groovesome songs and artists from across the decades - and decided there and then to get a band together. Joe introduced the drummer Lyn Edwards and Hungarian keyboardist Bernard Gabony, Larry introduced the horns - Steve Salkind and Dan Holloway, and the backing vocalists - Maaike Siegerist from the Netherlands and Anglo-Italian Francesca Raimondi-Taylor.
