In the 1950's I had a skiffle group, then the blues took me over. In the swinging sixties I was part of the London Folk scene, started "Bunjies" played banjo in jazz bands, some theatre music, solo folk and blues gigging - then I settled down. A married man, children - little or no public performing - but I carried on writing songs and this led to me writing music for minor documentary films, then radio, then theatre - then not just songs but scripts and plays too until starting in 1980 i gradually became.......... ...The author and illustrator who created the character of Stanley Bagshaw, who wrote 'Ging Gang Goolie, It's an Alien' - the best-selling book which started the Jets Series, who warned the world about 'Dangerous Daisy,' and the other kids at 'Pump Street Primary', who wrote the scripts for the TV series 'Joshua Jones, and worked with HRH the Prince of Wales to create the animated fim 'The Legend of Lochnagar.' And now encouraged and inspired by my son; Toby - (The Wilson half of "Breeze and Wilson" ) - I'm writing and recording songs again. it's back to where it all started. Here we have a distillation of words and music the like of which I find difficult to describe in terms of 'genre'. Folky, bluesy, jazzy? a mixture? I don't know. Have a listen. Perhaps you'll tell me.
