Antebellum began on scraps of paper stuck in places all over Andre and Kyle's lives. There were lyrics written on backs of receipts, in various notebooks, and saved in Word files on both of their computers. It began as a solo album for Kyle. They came together and decided on a concept, and Andre went off to the beach with his guitar and his family. Within three days, Antebellum, Tenth of July, and Night of Our Lives were born. After hearing a number of demos, they selected six tracks to keep, and after hearing those develop, Kyle wanted Andre on the album too, more than just for composing. Thus Antebellum became a full time project for both. After a while Expose, Almost Home, and My Dear Adele came together as part of the album (a long and arduous process in which there were plenty of arguments about musical style), and then, finally, after a few f@#$ing years the project took its final form, which you can download here. So what you'll hear is a collection of songs that are connected by the feeling that's left after a war, and the hope that there is still magic in the world.
