Who would have thought that a little girl standing on an orange crate so she could reach the microphone, only 3 years old, singing her heart out and believing every word of “Que, Se Ra, Se Ra… whatever will be… will be”, would really know what was in store for her. The music and the prophetic words of the song would follow her on her journey through life. Karen Woodland was that little girl with a voice and a heart for singing. Now known as Karen Sharp, her passion for music and singing from her heart has only become stronger through the years. She believes a song should “really say something to the person listening”. Karen feels the messages of every song she sings and she has touched the lives of many through the years with her music. She was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho and has spent most of her life in Salt Lake City, Utah. She studied musical theater at the University of Utah and performed as much as time would allow while raising her four children. In the late 1980’s she recorded her first album of inspirational music and began a new chapter in her music career taking her to a variety of performances. She spent the next several years learning much about what music was really all about. For over a year Karen has been working with producer Steve Kondor in Nashville, Tennessee creating her new Country Music CD. The twelve songs on this CD each carry a message that reaches out and touches a piece of your heart as you listen. They are songs for different moods, with a variety of tempos, but most of all they bring with them a spirit of hope and love. As you listen to each song, you will begin to understand why Karen’s voice has been described as crystal clear… soothing… warm… and something you’ll never tire of listening to.
