The Pirate of Eel Pie was first released in 2007. It is a collection of songs written mainly about my growing up in England in the 60's and 70's. Ricky Fataar co- produced the album with me and Malcolm Burn mixed it. "Joy Askew's music takes you to a place you haven't been, which is the highwater mark of a true artist. Her songs can make you feel alive and ready to experience anything, and they always touch the heart from the very first notes. There are so many great singer-songwriters right now, but Joy Askew is one who should be heard by everyone immediately.
