I'm a Chicago Native, I'm a guy come from the streets of Chicago. Growing up I was poverty stricken, at the age 16 I started selling drugs to make a better living. I had many people come and bring the message of Jesus to me, but I rejected it. I was so thirsty for the fast life and hungered to get to a level of self sufficiency, so I took drug dealing as a way out. At the age of 14 I wrote my first song "let me role". Thats when the thirst of the streets started. Than at the age of 17, I got with two of my guys and we formed a group called Hitt N Runn. Hitt N Runn begin to move faster than we expected, and we knew that we were going to the top. We released our single in Chicago and our album was first released in Jackson, Mississippi, the south was the way to go. By our surprise it begin to spread like wild fire. By the time I was 18 we were about to be signed by Metropolis Records, they were scouting for new talent in Chicago. At the time our managers had exposed us to Metropolis Records and it all became reality to all of us. Never forget we were called to audition that same night, what a joy it will be to get out of the ghetto, but we had one small problem one of the members of the group was younger than the both of us and we needed his parents permission to go on with signing the deal. As a group we went to his mother and asked her for her permission to sign with the label so that we can pursue our career. By our surprise she said YES! Man we were so happy that she believed in us and she knew we would go far. Until it turned for the worse! We had a date to sign our deal on the following Thursday after talking to his mother, but that Monday our best friend, my little brother killed himself playing russian roulette. Man! It took the life out of the group, to know we just had his mother's permission to sign with the label and the feeling to go back to square one. We felt all hope was lost. Even though the tragic happened we still went to the meeting, but they wanted us as a group and not the two. After that the other member of the group left and went on to be with another group. To know I was left by myself I got deeper into the drug game and gang banging. I had to do what was needed to get money to for studio time to do it by myself. We all know that the more money I seen selling drugs that that thirst grew stronger. I continue to write music and I knew one day I would make it, but I got discourage because my guy signed on with another group. Now I'm back to the drawing board. At the age of 22 I begin to start my solo project and I begin to start writing again. I would never forget I was at my table writing and I heard the voice of the Lord say, would you write music for me. I answer; "For who!?"and I heard "me, Christ Jesus." I laughed! I thought it to be so funny, because I was trapped in a game I didn't know how to come out of. In all I just gave up after hearing the spirit of the Lord. My gift began to lay dormant and I sat on it. I was inspired to write from time to time, but eventually I gave up. All I did from there was went to school, hustle and gang bang. I thank God for Jeanette Isom, she was a praying mother. I truly believe the prayers of my mother kept me. Growing up, I knew my mother's God, I never had a relationship with God for myself. One day I was in the house and I was about to go out the door to hustle, I had my mind sat that I was gonna be the next big thing happen, but I was walking out the door and walk past my mother's book shelf her Bible fail before my feet. When I picked the Bible up the first thing I saw was " evil communication corrupts good manners". It knock every thought that I had that was evil clean up out of me. At the age of 26 I decided I'm tired, I need to truly learn God for myself, because nothing else work! I tried everything. I begin to surrender and God took it from there. Now the same God I laughed at is the same God I'm writing music for. By my side God planted a host of people, even after the the tragic event that occur in my life Dec 31,2009. I really don't wanna express it, but I can say God kept me and wouldn't let me go. I could have went crazy, but my God!! In 2011 a chain of events came and changed my life forever and I'm so ever grateful for how God showed up and showed out. Now this year 2012 a birth took place " No Longer In Captivity" was born. It's a message from God through me showing the world how he brought me out of captivity. With my Lord Jesus by my side there was nothing to hard for God. This message is to the world, to know what God did for me, he will do the same for you. In the pregnancy stage of this album my loving wife pushed me to the point of no return. When I told her my story she put her goals on hold to help me go forward. In the stage of pregnancy, God surrounded me with people to get this baby born. Truly I didn't know where, when and how. All I could do is rely on my source which was my provider Jehovah Jirah. God brought people out of no where, when I say God had a ram in a bush he truly did. It started with my wife son in the Lord Anthony "Reformation" Gomez he's and awesome producer. Anthony took out the time to help me with this baby. Anthony also taught me how to make my own tracks and go to the next level of recording. I truly thank Anthony for all he has done and I'm ever so grateful God for the ram you provided for me. Then the people thats on the album Young Chris big props and my children play a major role in this, thank you God. Also my next to the oldest daughter, Lord knows it took all to get her to sing for her Daddy. Thaij God wants to use you, let him. Shantia, Ellanease and Stephon thank you all for your voice, Daddy needed you all. By the way when making the CD cover my wife forgot our 9 year old son made the first track on the album, Stephon bigs props dude. My son Eric, words cannot express what you mean to me, thank you for your support and prayers. My oldest daughter and husband, Denise and Troy thank you also you have played a major role also. Now that the baby is born, God, lets take the world by storm!!!
