Sometimes the most beautiful things evolve out of an honest place where no there are no plans, no intentions, and no pretenses. That is what these songs have become. I can think of no better compliment than another person jumping in headfirst into some rough sketches you have made, and turning them into fully realized works of art: diving into a vision that is poorly laid out and murky, and plunging forward into the darkness without objection. Thank you, Peter, for putting in more hours, sweat, and tears than you or your family have the time to give. You are a rare musician, a talent that few get to experience and appreciate as I do, and even more importantly, a great friend. Also, the only person I know who can insert Kirby Puckett so seamlessly into a song. Brilliant. You’ll never know the depth of gratitude I have for you. For the rest, thanks to all the other musicians, writers, and baristas who encourage me in my usually rambling and diverging paths to creating something original.
