(World Changing at) Punk Rock Speed is a fast up-tempo, rocker which marries the fast, frenetic energy of the rockier moments of Matchbox Twenty with the multi-tracked, tight harmonies of Queen or ELO. The song concerns the fast amount of changes occurring in the world every day. It doesn’t preach but rather gives a bird’s eye view of these changes with passionate vocals, chopping guitars and layered keyboards over a driving drum beat. It makes predictions as well; “Someday we’ll all live on Mars….Someday we’ll drive a flying car.” It should be noted too that the whole recording of the song took place with a get together of Jeff Lehman’s CLB( City Lights Band), many years after the band’s demise. After getting together to play a tribute show to Jeff’s cousin Dan Drotar in 2009, the band got together shortly after to finish a CD started many years before. (World Changing at) Punk Rock Speed was one of the first songs the band recorded for the CD. It may be the only song in the history of music with a tire iron and hammer played as percussion. This single is offered from the band’s debut CD “CLB,” to be released sometime in late 2012, early 2013. It should be noted that Jeff Lehman of CLB is a second generation member of the band “Looking Glass” that had hits with “Brandy (You’re a Fine Girl),” and “Jimmy Loves Maryanne.” Jeff also sings the “Lizzie McGuire TV Theme" (written by Elliot Lurie of Looking Glass), live at Looking Glass shows.
