Stahlplattens owner Carlos Weber a.k.a. Edelstahl describes his style as Techno with attitude, and, by taking a listen to his productions, youd better believe what he has to say. His Tresor EP, a homage to the legendary Berlin club, is fiery and blazing: opening Echolots teasing percussions and stretched synth stabs make up for an apocalyptic atmosphere; the frequency filterings in the breaks go on to a heavily pounding and intense rhythm, surrounded by an analogue frenzy. The title tracks Tresor with steely groove delves into a mammoth wall of sound, while Prometeus is an irreverent bouncy sped up number: its warehouse feeling and grimy lead open the floor to a stomping big room vibe, galloping and smashing. Definitely some proper hard stuff in here, this guy knows how to deliver.
