Lucrecia Dalt is fast-establishing herself as one of the leading luminaries of the avant-pop scene. Following the arthouse indie horror ‘The Seed’, ‘The Baby’ is Lucrecia’s second score of 2022 and accompanies the HBO / Sister series of the same name. For the director Nicole Kassell, and creators Sian Robins-Grace and Lucy Gaymer, the brief for ‘Mareterna’ was for “something to close the episode with high energy - a Dalt banger!” Lucrecia listened to some of her favourite bangers, by artists that included M.I.A., Errorsmith and Rita Indiana, before conjuring a merengue-like pattern beat, overlaid with rhythmic processed vocals. Recent releases include a collaborative album with Aaron Dillaway - ‘Lucie & Aaron’. New music will be forthcoming via RVNG Intl later in 2022.
