John Kiernan wears many hats in the music industry. Whether he’s composing a mind gripping score for directors like Anthony Mezza or Kevin Bianchi, performing with the likes of Slash from Guns N Roses and recording/releasing his own solo works or with his punk rock trio R.V.U or teaching students the ways of music theory, composition, and guitar technique with his wife at their school The Academy of Musical Proficiency (A.M.P), John’s talents allow him to create soundscapes and musical pieces for many moods and applications. John attended Florida Atlantic University and studied music theory & composition under the esteemed Dr. Stuart Glazer while studying the music industry’s creative, business, and technological worlds under Professor Michael Zager and Professor Alejandro Sanchez. Through his time there, he scored many films for students and professionals alike such as a finalist for Playstation Vita’s contest. John became the head of A&R and Creative Services of Hoot/Wisdom Recordings, FAU’s student run record label, and became signed to the label with both of his projects, as well as performing on various tracks on their CompOWLation albums. John has had the privilege of sharing the stage with Slash from Guns n’ Roses (EMI Records), Alexisonfire (Vagrant/Universal Music Group), and Less Than Jake (Fueled By Ramen Records).
