Explorer is his second release on the Shanachie label and integrates jazz ("You Mean Everything to Me" and "Jumpin With Duke"), horn laden soul ("Male Magnet," "Just between Me and You"), New Orleans-style rumba ("Sayin Don't Make It So"), and even Celtic overtones ("Lonesome Old Town"). Explorer lives up to its title and finds Robillard and his band providing another eclectic blues/roots set in the process.
