About 12 years ago I started playing solo shows at Georg Sheldon's Longshot Bar. 50$, food and as much as I could drink. Monday nights. I used the stage name Kid Twist. The Kid Twist from Monk Eastman's gang. A vicious dandy who came to a violent end. Seemed to work for a destitute rock n roller. I played all my old song and wrote a bunch more. I found out there were a bunch of people going under the name Kid Twist so I had him killed off one night at the Jubilee Lounge. Johnny Valiant was seen feeling the scene. I guess this record came out of those early gigs, although most of the songs are newer than that. Most of these songs come from the live shows I play now. I grew up playing Bluegrass with my family. Andrew Ratcliffe recorded this at Tweed Studios in Oxford. We produced it together. Jeffrey Reed mastered it at TapRoot Audio.
