"Acme Plus isn't an album of cast offs, ach song is a funky blues infusion with plenty of soul. If your experience of Jon Spencer has been the heavy and raw blues of the 'Now I Got Worry' album then this may catch you by suprise. It has been produced and remixed and sounds smooth. There are plenty of guests, none more impressive than the albums executive producer - the legend - Andre "Mr. Rhythm" Williams who;s distincive touch has definately rubbed off. Acme Plus is very funky - you could dance to it. I've never heard music like it, it is still heavy blues but wouldn't necessarily sound out of place next to Jurassic 5! Covering a full range of gospel, country, rock ’n’ roll, hip-hop, blues, and soul influences and making use of the talents of band memebers from groups such as Sonic Youth and Teenage Riot Acme Plus is bombastic and exciting. Heavy and Dirty. Original and Overlooked. This is heavy, kick-ass, sexy and definitely explosive blues. My favourite tracks include 'Not Yet' with it's infectious guitar riffs and 'Chowder'. "
