Take a listen. Not what you’re used to, huh? In a music market cluttered with over production and manufactured images, Jamie is truly a breath of fresh air. Take another listen and you will hear a sweet vulnerability in such a powerful voice. Her vocal talents easily shine whether on a Pop, R&B, inspirational or Jazz melody. Music comes naturally to Jamie. It’s in her blood. She continues on the legacy of her grandfather, a jazz bassist, and her parents who were staples in the music industry. Her resume does not just stop with singing though, she also writes her own songs and plays the piano, flute and guitar. Considering the depth of her talent some would call Jamie an old soul for being such a young artist, but then again, she has been captivating audiences since the age of five. Hailing from Philadelphia, she began her career on the prestigious precursor to “American Idol,” Ed McMahon’s “Star Search,” where she won the“ Junior Vocalist of the Year” award. This would only be the beginning of many more accomplishments. At eight years old, Jamie had released her first CD entitled, “Spotlight,” honoring the legendary ladies of Jazz and had appeared on multiple regional and national television shows, including ABC’s “Good Morning America.” By ten years old, she was performing on stage at the world famous Apollo Theater and went on to became the youngest artist to ever play at Carnegie Hall. It was no wonder that she was included in a feature in Philadelphia Magazine’s "30 Greatest Under 30 Years Old". Jamie also pursued her dream of obtaining an undergraduate degree. She managed to balance her academic career with her passion for music and continued to sing, appearing on BET, performing at the Blue Note Jazz Club in New York City with the late Grover Washington Jr., Will Downing and one of her true inspirations, Rachel Farrell. As youth Ambassador of the city of Philadelphia, Jamie remains committed to lifting her voice on behalf of the youth. In addition, Jamie fervently shows her support for our troops by giving of her time in numerous volunteer efforts around her city, as well as by creating an anthem of gratitude entitled, “Salute” that she hopes will “serve as a thank you to the men and women who sacrifice so much for the rights that we often take for granted.” Jamie looks forward to sharing even more with the world on her upcoming release.
