Surf music during the 60's featured electric guitars as the dominant sound, along with keyboards and a thumping drum beat that helped define the genre. On this album, we've retained the edgy guitar and raw sounds, enhancing the authenticity by using original keyboards from the surf era. The sound is further enhanced with state-of-the-art mixing, mastering, and production to create fresh instrumental renditions of 17 of your favorite surf tunes. Surf Update was produced by accomplished guitarist Grant Geissman. Grant assembled a few of his buddies to record these jams at Glenwood Place Studios in Burbank, California. All are top musicians in their own rights: Jim Cox on keyboards, Randy Landas on bass, Tom Walsh on percussion, and Fred Selden on Saxophone.
