Daniel Anthony started singing at 5 years old. Although he was always singing Michael Jackson songs, he grew to love other musicians such as Prince, Earth, Wind & Fire, Seawind, and Al Jarreau, just to name a few. As a teenager, Daniel witnessed music growing and changing with the times, but it never stopped him from following the soulful music that he grew to love. Through the years, Daniel continued singing and joined two R&B groups after graduating high school. He then began recording under a pseudonym with Mhax Montes & Phab of Private Stock as well as Christopher Jenkins who has produced songs for Bell Biv Devoe, Jesse Powell and Patrice “Buttaphly” Stewart. While completing his first secular project, Daniel met his wife, Leslie, who played a big part in changing his life by encouraging Daniel to go to church. In 2004, he gave his life to Christ and they got baptized together on her 30th birthday. Shortly after, he felt God changing his spirit in his music and commanded Daniel to glorify his name. In 2005, Daniel began working on his first gospel project, “BrandNewLIFE”, independently released in 2006. Although gospel music was new to him, Daniel felt a desire to spread God’s word in a real way. This allowed him to write about real situations with songs such as “TheLORD”, which is about him urging to someone to get right with Christ. He also recorded a remake of Prince’s “4everNmyLIFE”, re-written as an ode to his relationship with God. In 2007, Daniel became a top 20 contestant of “BET’s Sunday Best”, hosted by Kirk Franklin. “It was a really great experience”, he says. “I really feel that God put me in that situation to be closer to him”. That closeness allowed Daniel to see what was needed to better his music. He also got more involved with his church, Santa Clarita Christian Fellowship, with his wife, leading their youth ministry called “God’s Souljahz”. Currently, Daniel is working on new material and prays that God continues to work within him to spread the word of the Lord.
