11 Past
"11 Past" Is a collection of songs from the very early days of All this Filth to the more recent spanning from late 2007 to late 2010. In this you can see where the band has come from and where it is going. In essence, this album is a collection of 10 songs that are packed full of aggression, groove, melody and everything in between. If you like your Metal, you will love this band. For Fans Of : SEPULTURA, SLAYER, CHIMAIRA, FEAR FACTORY, MACHINE HEAD, LAMB OF GOD, IN FLAMES, HATESPHERE, THE HAUNTED, SOULFLY, PANTERA, DEATH, SKINLAB, HATEBREED. Dont take our word for it though, heres what J. Whitiker of 272 records had to say about the song 11 Past; The song opens with a guitar ring reminiscent of a freight train rolling off the tracks - the plot thickens before the song even begins! And begin it does!! Thundering drums, bass and guitars lock in unison spitting out nothing but pure fury! Hostility is the name of the game and All This Filth play it well. Beastly rhythms and slamming guitars carry the song, while lead vocalist Brendan brings nothing but pure aggression to the forefront in the vein of the hardcore great Jamey Jasta. The drummer is tight and works the double kick well, as he establishes the meter and groove, while the bass player escorts the chaos and lowers the sonic boom. I love the way the lead guitars are played and fall in the mix, they are haunting and eerie which only adds to the intrigue of the song. The song is skillfully written and delivers its message on cue and the overall sound and production is excellent. There is a nice mixture of death metal and thrash metal created here and in my opinion, "11 Past" could have easily slithered off the greatly renowned Sepultura album, 'Roots'. The craftsmanship of the group and the songwriting of Brendan Preston should carry this band forward for a long period of time, consuming many metal fans along the way! - J. Whitiker 272 Records A&R Representative Heres what Global Metal Apocalypse said when they reviewed the album: " Sometimes it can be risky to release a debut album without an EP or demo before it; sometimes it pays off, on this occasion it pays off. Enter All This Filth, the Perth quartet with more balls than a bull with huge cojones and on marijuana, that said the album '11 Past' has a downfall on the twanging on the bass guitar being a little sloppy on parts of the album, but an overall view is that it's a bare minimum two minutes of negativity, for songs like 'fatal mistake' have that bass error on it but the rest of the song is a monumental piece of musicianship, as is the album itself. Fusing Groove elements to Deathrash Metal in the style of Lamb of God-cross-Nervecell, All This Filth produce a mouth-watering debut and are clearly set up to make tracks; shame about the bass though, might need more cowbell." [8.5] RHYS STEVENSON "This is a savage beast of modern metal from Australia. The music is as lethal as the depiction on the cover. This takes the raging growl from the hardcore genre, the groove-oriented bends from modern death metal, the memorable riffs from the thrash scene and blends it together into an overdose of extreme metal. "11 Past" is like a slug to the chest. You feel that **** penetrating your core. This reminds me a lot of Sepultura and Fear Factory. This has a great throwback feel, but is still as fresh as any of todays' bands. The music is slow to mid-tempo and filled with heavy chunks of molten breakdowns and double bass blasts. There are faster tracks with a more hardcore/thrash feel as well ("Everyday Slavery"). "Everyday Slavery" is probably my favorite track as it combines the blazing fast parts, the mid-tempo mosh parts, a seering solo and a slow as mud sludge part. If you like modern metal with a ton of heavy mosh parts, you will love All This Filth." RYAN SWOPE - November 24th Spawned A Monster... So give us a try, You just might like it!
