The Queen Anne's Revenge EP
Queen Anne's Revenge roughly began in late 2006 when bassist Fordy Shoor and guitarist Stu Colman met at Sarah Lawrence College in New York. The two "bedroom rockers" bonded with their growing disinterest in Sarah Lawrence's distinctly indie/twee-pop music scene as well as their love of tasty licks and powerful songwriting buried deep under waves of distortion. Fordy, a Nor-Cal metalhead with a punk background, and Stu, a midwestern punk with a metalhead background, made it their goal to revive SLC's sagging rock scene with a band that would fuse the musical complexity of heavy metal with the rawness of old school punk. In early 2007, prodigal Nor-Cal drummer Colin Fahrner signed on as their rhythm section and they soon began to play on Sarah Lawrence's campus, with the sole intention of kicking its pseudo-Ivy League ass. They soon became part of the growing Sarah Lawrence rock scene that includes other bands such as Red Sails, The Wailing Wall, Le Bilance and The Barn Burners. In June of 2007, the trio released Live From Dudley Lawrence, a 3-track single recorded in the basement of Dudley Lawrence, a beloved resident hall at their college. They spent the Summer of 2007 in Oakland, California recording their debut EP which was released December 14th, 2007. As for now, Queen Anne's Revenge is offically relocating back to New York to write and tour extensively.
