It seems that George's pushy, bombastic writing challenges Manuelle's improvising ability to a greater extent, thus giving the production a live, unconfined feel. Omar Alfanno's "Dile a Ella" is a tune that bristles with uninhibited energy. "Dile a Ella," the self-penned "He Tratado," and "El Aguila" are exercises of contumacious swing in every way; among other delights, "Nuestra Historia" is a juicy, astute mix of the usual George sound and the son montuno genre. A must for late-'90s salsa fans, and one that continued to solidify Manuelle's position as a favorite in later salsa generations.
