Portly & Co.'s sound started very acoustic, like in the last song on the album, "Home". The band then wanted to venture into a more complete full band sound as can be heard in both "More Than Friends" and "Kid Coast". The roots of the band can be discovered in the lyrics of both "Kid Coast" and "Home", and have been the inspiration for a lot of the bands sound.
