Collectively, Shells has more than 70 years of experience playing in Gainesville bands. These veteran players have created a band that is equal parts texture and song craft. The songs on The Rattle of the Stars are tuneful while at the same time teetering on the edge of noisy chaos. Their debut recording is the product of many, many Wednesday nights, asking the question, "What if we did this? What would that sound like?"
