'The sea is said to call' is a short album (e.p) of five original compositions. They were recorded and mixed in August 2016 and January 2017, in Bristol, U.K. The recordings are mostly fairly sparse, acoustic renditions. It's a follow up to my previous albums ('Love's Lost Cause' and 'Grub Street Mansions') and returns to a similar torch-song style, but more in the form of stories (or in one case a paranoid dream) than confessionals. The title is taken from the song 'Alan', an ode to the late Alan Turing (a 'concept song', written as if by some future AI to a person, who Wikipedia notes is "widely considered to be the father of theoretical computer science and artificial intelligence"). The story of that song also informs the cover art, which was designed and drawn by Bristol based artist, Jordan Collver.
