Birthright was recorded in August 2014 with producer Geoff Rockwell (Memphis May Fire, Crown the Empire, Forever the Sickest Kids) in Fort Worth, Texas as a followup to Glasshouse's first two singles ("Cheekbone" and "Bricks & Mortar"), which were released in April 2014 in order to generate hype for the post-hardcore quintet's first collective project. Thematically, Birthright entertains a unique "modern meets traditional" blend of society's current and oftentimes futuristic state against the perpetual ghosts of the past.
