This Beat Goes On/Switchin' to Glide (Original Demo)
This "demo" version of The Kings "This Beat Goes On/Switchin' to Glide" was their original recording that caught the ear of famed producer Bob "Pink Floyd" Ezrin. While mixing this version of the song he realized that the band had potential but needed a lot of guidance if they were to get anywhere. So, with this tape in hand, he went and secured The Kings a world-wide major record deal with Elektra Records in Los Angeles. The Kings then went back into the rehearsal hall and then the studio and came up with what would be the definitive version of the segue. This early version is interesting because it shows the raw ability the band had, and also shows that work was needed for them to bring out their promise.
