Leo Leal's Unike Muzik imprint has enjoyed a pretty stellar past while, with releases from names such as Markus Homm and Figueroa & Obando elevating them towards the upper echelons of electronic music. The label's latest party trick comes courtesy of Swiss DJ/production duo L'N'F. The founders of the vinyl shop Electronic Wave, the boys are also founders and residents DJs at Electroniwave, a party held at the Livingroom club in Lugano. Their debut outing for Unike sees them produce a seriously fine offering thanks to the Awakening EP. It all kicks off thanks to the wondrous ''Soul Kitchen'', a bassline led track full of suspense and wonderful tumbling percussion. Tinges of acid mingle throughout, and the sporadic vocal charges only reinforces its dancefloor prowess. Hanfry Martinez then perks up on remix duties. The Mexican native has proved himself a dab hand in the studio of late, with a series of remixes and originals earning him a place on labels such as One Records and Hot Creations. He adds a deep exterior to the original's shell, resulting in an effort that wraps the listener up in a warm glow from beginning to end. ''Oxa'' then sees the EP drift again towards techier planes, while ''Brandub'' goes all out courtesy of its pulsating vibes and unforgiving relentlessness. ''Akira'' is a more delicate proposition, and the 6-track EP comes to a head thanks to ''Flambe'', a curious track that snaps, crackles and pops in all the right places.
